Teguar’s New Explosion Proof Computer TSX-5010-15 is Built for Hazardous Locations
Charlotte, NC - Introducing Teguar’s TSX-5010-15 Hazardous Location Computer. The TSX-5010-15 is Class 1 Division 2, ATEx Zone 2, and IECEx certified, as well as IP66 / NEMA 4X compliant. This PC is built for environments where flammable or explosive vapors or gasses are present, such as in the oil and gas industry, at a nuclear factory, or on a chemical manufacturing line. Being C1D2 certified means the TSX-5010-15 will not emit any sparks or electrical surges that could cause a fire or explosion in these hazardous environments.
Besides being explosion proof, the TSX-5010-15 is also water and dust proof, with IP66 / NEMA 4X ratings (for protection from water jets) with M12 metal I/O connectors and SUS304 stainless steel housing. The flat antenna design adds to the ruggedness of the computer, since extruding antennae often break off and create a point of failure. This computer has a wide operating temperature of -20 ~ 60°C and will boot up with self-heating if the PC reaches -20°C. The TSX-5010-15 has versatile mounting options, including VESA 100, for mounting to an arm or stand; yoke mount, for a desktop stand or wall mount; and an optional panel mount bezel, for mounting into a cut out in an enclosure.
With the Intel 6th Gen Core i5 CPU, the TSX-5010-15 can be used for demanding tasks such as real-time machine monitoring and control, data collection and communication between the field and the central control room. The TSX-5010-15 has a 15” resistive touch screen, which will register touch even if the user is wearing thick gloves. The 4:3 screen ratio is also ideal for many HMI and SCADA applications, and the PC has Intel HD graphics and optional TPM 2.0 security.
This computer has a comprehensive set of I/Os, with up to 2x LAN, up to 4x USB, and 2x serial ports. The external AC-to-DC power adapter is available with either a 2.4 meter or 50 meter DC side cable, so it is easy to bring the power source to a non-hazardous location. The unit has a connector panel for easy USB and LAN cable installations that is configurable per application.
