New Tsugami B0326 32mm 6-Axis Swiss Type Lathe to Debut at IMTS 2012

New crossover design responds to U.S. demand for increasingly productive and profitable machining solutions to manufacture high-quality parts less than 32mm in diameter.

Windsor, CT - REM Sales, LLC of Windsor, Connecticut will debut and demonstrate the newest model in Tsugami's B0 Series at Booth S-9410 during IMTS 2012, September 10-15 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois. The new B0326 32mm 6-axis Swiss type machine is a true breakthrough for the North American market, according to REM Sales National Sales Manager, Scott Anthony.

"The B0326 extends the significant productivity gains normally associated with Tsugami's higher priced S and SS Series machines to a very large customer base," Mr. Anthony states. "It is a highly capable yet easy-to-operate and affordable machine that many shops making small diameter, high quality parts in large volumes will appreciate."

The B0326 is the only 32mm Swiss type machine on the market that can easily and quickly be converted from direct-drive guide bushing bar-fed operation to non- guide bushing operation when fitted with an optional chucker kit. Ideal for short or prismatic parts, this added flexibility also reduces expensive material costs. Equipped with modular live tooling for quick changeovers and a large, easily accessible tool zone, the B0326 is ergonomically designed for the North American market. A dual path Fanuc 32i-B CNC slashes cycle time by permitting true simultaneous operation of the main and sub spindle. The addition of a back rotary tool is optional, further enhancing the machine's capabilities.

Themed around the concept of "Touch-Once" Manufacturing, the Tsugami booth will feature live cutting demonstrations on the Tsugami B0326 and seven other models in the Tsugami product line. Demonstrations will show how the opposed gang-tool type Tsugami Swiss style lathes significantly reduce part handling and cutting time through use of multiple live cutting axes, simultaneous operation of main and sub spindles, integration with automatic bar feeders, and quick changeover between direct-drive, guide bushing bar-fed operation and non- guide bushing operation for short or prismatic parts.
