Cubic Machinery Introduces SG-12

12mm bar capacity Swiss-type lathe ideal for small aerospace and medical parts

Due to customer demand, Cubic Machinery now offers a 12mm version of our popular SG line of swiss-type lathes. The SG-12 is a 7-axis Swiss-type lathe with Fanuc control in a compact package.

It features high-speed built-in motor spindles, with the main spindle capable of reaching 15,000 rpm for improved surface finish and reaching the surface speed small diameter parts require. With a total of 21 tools, SG-12 can satisfy the requirements to carry out complicated part features in one setup. The front side features opposed gang tool slides with fixed and live tools for OD and face. The backside is kept busy due to powerful independent back tool post and full XZ axes on the sub-spindle.

As with other Swiss-type lathes in Cubic's lineup, SG-12 can be converted to chucker mode in minutes which allows machining without guide bushing and allows the use of non-ground stock.

Simultaneous to SG-12's release, Cubic also introduces a matching bar feeder optimized for small diameter turning. The new bar feeder is perfect for aerospace connector pins, medical screws and a host of other sub-6mm turned products.
