The two main areas of concern when operating a solenoid valve with steam are temperature and pressure. These new solenoid valves tackle both with simple design changes to be compatible with steam systems.

High temperature can damage a general use solenoid valve by damaging the internal diaphragms and seals. This steam valve utilizes both a servo-assisted plunger fit with a PTFE seal and a piston with a PTFE seal rather than a Viton Diaphragm. PTFE is very temperature resistant and the Servo-Assisted Plunger coupled with the piston provides reliable seals at high temperatures.

The expansion of steam in a valve causes high pressure that could damage a plastic or brass solenoid valve. Each of the steam solenoid valves is constructed with a high-strength 304 stainless steel body that is rated for pressures of 0-145 PSI for AC valves and 0-90 PSI for DC valves.
