Troglotrek Sewer Crawler: You Can do it Alone
Troglotrek ( https://www.fiberscope.net/sewer-crawler-troglogator.html ) is a robust, highly versatile and easy to operate sewer crawler designed and built to deliver utmost convenience and portability. The principal feature of the crawler that truly sets it apart from most other devices is its lightweight, albeit solid, structure and independence of a conventional power supply. The entire system is fully battery operated, which results in added portability, no need for cables, generators or inverters, as well as zero emissions and, therefore, a significantly reduced carbon footprint. A quick-charge battery pack is included with the crawler.
The crawler consists of a 300 (984 ft.) meter long and 4 mm diameter cable on an aluminum cable drum with an integrated imaging hub, a 5.6’’ color display, and a motorized Troglotrek crawler. The cable is Kevlar reinforced with a Vectran strength line. The imaging hub features a keyboard for text input, an on-screen footage counter, and an inclinometer, as well as pressure and temperature sensors.
The crawler is made out of stainless steel and brass. It is equipped with brushless motors and a built-in digital clarity CMOS ¼ camera with built-in front and back LEDs. The lights are equivalent to a 40W halogen bulb and provide sufficient illumination even in completely dark environments. In addition, the camera features both automatic and manual focussing, as well as endless panning and tilting. It is protected from physical damage by a scratch proof sapphire crystal lens.
The Troglotrek sewer crawler works in all kinds of pipelines between 4’’ and 12’’ in diameter. The system is impressively lightweight (26 kilos or 57.3 lbs) and can be handled by a single operator. Very few other tools with similar parameters are one-man operable. It can not only be lifted, but put to operation by one person. The crawler does not need a dedicated truck to transport it to the jobsite, either.
