Rockler Introduces First Router Table Fence That Allows Micro-Adjustments of Face Even After Fence is Locked Down

MEDINA, MINN. (PRWEB) NOVEMBER 18, 2020 - Rockler Woodworking and Hardware has introduced the first router table fence on the market that allows the user to micro-adjust the fence face in or out after the fence has been locked in position – quickly delivering precision that's hard to achieve with the age-old knuckle-tapping method.

The Rockler ProMax Router Table Fence has a rugged two-part extruded aluminum body that's hinged at the outfeed end. The user positions the fence close to the final desired position, locks it down and then turns a knob on the back of the fence body at the infeed end to fine-tune the fence face in or out. An internal spring provides tension to help keep the fence face in place, and a lockdown knob on the top to fully secure the setting.

"Anyone who's used a router table knows that it can take a lot of nudging back-and-forth to get the fence position just right," said Dan Wenning, Rockler's director of product development. "The ProMax fence lets you zero in on the perfect setting much more quickly and easily."

The ProMax fence has melamine-coated MDF fence faces that can be slid close to the router bit to provide zero-clearance workpiece support for smoother cuts. The fence faces also incorporate T-Slots for mounting vertical featherboards to increase workpiece control. Additionally, there are two T-Slots on the aluminum body – one on top and one on the back – that enable mounting of sliding stops and other accessories.

For router table users who want to be able to true up the edge of a board but don't have a jointer, metal jointing rods are included. They store behind the outfeed fence face, but they can be removed, turned 90 degrees and reinstalled to shift the fence face out 1/32" to support the straightened edge of a workpiece.

The fence also features easy-to-grip knobs with rubber overmolds and comes with a heavy-duty bit safety guard, an integral 2-1/2" diameter dust collection port and a T-shaped hex wrench for adjusting the fence faces. The hex wrench stores in a dedicated spot in the fence itself.

The Rockler ProMax Router Table Fence (53798) is priced at $199.99 and is available for purchase exclusively online at http://www.rockler.com or at Rockler Woodworking and Hardware stores nationwide, as well as through the Rockler catalog.
