Original Press Release:

Highland Technology has Released The Model T850 Pockels Cell Driver

It incorporates a new architecture that greatly increases electrical efficiency and reduces driver size, cost, and cooling requirements.

The T850 can drive Pockels cells from 250 to 1400 volts peak, with a typical output of 1000 volts at 4 MHz pulse rate. Under 20 cubic inches in volume, it can be mounted within optical assemblies immediately adjacent to the Pockels cell optical modulator.

The T850 requires only 48 volt DC power at under 2 amps, and has no fans that could cause vibration in optical systems.

The 7.5 nanosecond electrical output pulse is suited to pulse-picking mode locked lasers pulsing at over 100 MHz. The clean output waveform is also suited to cavity dumping and active Q switching.
