Solon, OH…Permatex®, a leading innovator in chemical technology for automotive maintenance and repair, offers a versatile line of Permatex Gel Threadlockers that is formulated to deliver a higher level of accuracy and usability.
Liquid threadlockers can drip off the bolts, minimizing holding power while creating waste and mess. Permatex Gel Threadlockers are OEM specified and available in two strengths, Medium Strength Blue and High Strength Red.
Permatex’s unique, gel formula works with a clinging action to assure that the threadlocker is applied with precision and stays on the fastener during assembly. Automotive technicians and DIYers can put the right amount of threadlocker material exactly where they want it, even in overhead, vertical, and hard-to-reach applications.
Permatex Blue Medium Strength Gel Threadlocker is an all-purpose, medium strength threadlocker for use on bolts from ¼ to ¾ in. diameter. It eliminates the need for stocking expensive lock nuts and lock washers and locks and seals while preventing parts loosening from vibration. Applications include valve cover bolts, water pump bolts, oil pan bolts, drive shaft bolts, rocker arm adjustment nuts, and carburetor studs. It can also be used on all frame mounting bolts for motorcycles and starter mounts, alternator mounts, and engine mounting bolts in heavy duty applications.
Permatex Red High Strength Gel Threadlocker is designed specifically for heavy-duty fasteners from 3/8 to 1 in. diameter. It is well suited for permanently locking studs and press fits, adding 3,000 PSI holding power on slip and press fit assemblies. Replaces set screws and snap rings. Applications include cylinder block and rocker arm studs, ring gear bolts, frame bolts, shock absorber bolts, as well as cap screws and differential studs in heavy duty applications.
Both Blue and Red Threadlocker Gels are offered in two convenient sizes: a 5g Gel Squeeze™ applicator and a 10g Gel Twist™ pinpoint applicator, with a new professional-sized 35g tube coming later this year.
