Large Aperture Hollow Core Voice Coil Motor has High Force!
Van Nuys, CA – A large diameter, open aperture voice coil motor has been introduced by Moticont. The HVCM-095-038-051-01 Voice coil or Moving Coil Linear Motor has an open aperture of 2.00 in. (50.8 mm). This brushless servo motor is low cost, clean room friendly and is available off-the-shelf. Additional features of this linear motor are, high acceleration/deceleration, high speed, zero cogging, and backlash free when connected directly to a load.
The open aperture of the HVCM-095-038-051-01 Linear Motor allows for optics, illumination, laser beams, or passing cables through. This servo motor capable of high precision when used in closed loop application, has a continuous force rating of 10.0 lbs (66.7 N) and a peak force of 47.5 lbs (211.0 N) at a 10% duty cycle. This open aperture voice coil motor has a 3.750 in. (95.3 mm) diameter and a housing length of 1.50 in. (38.1 mm) with a 0.50 in. (12.7 mm) stroke. Length of the motor is 2.250 in. (57.1 mm) at mid-stroke. It is ideal for applications such as: Laser drilling, cutting, welding, and machining, medical diagnostic equipment, testing, optical focusing, laser beam steering, wafer handling, dynamic vibration absorption, assembly, and positioning applications.
Two 10-32 UNF-2B x 0.25 in. (6.4 mm) deep threaded mounting holes on 2.750 in. (69.9 mm) centers in the housing and coil allow for flexible and easy integration into new and existing applications. When used in closed loop applications with an adequate position sensor, resolutions of less then 1 micron are achievable for millions of cycles.
