These beautiful jars have been created to pay tribute to Ball’s rich history in canning. From the vintage logo, to the original “Ball Blue” color, to the jar & lid shape. These jars are a direct replica of the canning jars of the early 1900’s and helps Ball ring in its 135th anniversary.

In 1884, nearly 135 years ago, the Ball brothers began manufacturing glass Mason jars out of their factory in Buffalo, New York. Soon after, in 1887, they moved their operations to Muncie, Indiana to be close to an abundant natural gas supply. These jars, used for home canning and preserving, made Ball a household name across the country. As they were back then, all Ball jars, lids, and bands are still proudly made in the USA.
Near the turn of the 20th century, the famous “Ball® Blue” color was created when the minerals in the sand used to make the jars resulted in an unexpected aqua color. These aqua jars were beautiful and quickly became popular for preserving and storing jams, jellies, and other recipes.
