Original Press Release:

Easily Laser Mark Wire Jackets and Cable Insulation with New Fluon+â„¢ LaserWrite Concentrates

EXTON, Pa., November 17, 2020 – Laser marking is a fast, efficient method of permanently imprinting product information on cable jackets and wire insulation. Information imprinted with laser marks will not rub off like it does when applied by inkjet, and there is little risk of damaging the interior properties of the wire or cable. AGC developed Fluon+™ LaserWrite concentrates to be added to resins to make them laser-markable.

When added to resins, Fluon+ LaserWrite concentrates provide high contrast ratios for clear laser identification. Adding these concentrates to resin formulations has no detrimental effects to the intrinsic properties of the resins.

Three Fluon+ LaserWrite grades are available based on ETFE, FEP and PFA fluoropolymers. All grades mix well into existing resins and color concentrate formulations and can be used with any melt processable resin system. They can be processed using conventional thermoplastic methods such as melt extrusion.

Fluon+ LaserWrite concentrates can also be produced as ready-to-use compounds, and custom compounds may be available upon request.
