New Infrared Calibration Black Body Designed for Elevated Skin Temperature Detection is Now Available
Asheville, NC: The new HSB50 Skin Temperature Black Body Infrared Calibration Unit is now available from Palmer Wahl Instruments, Inc. The HSB50 has a fixed emissivity setting of 0.98, designed specifically for calibrating infrared temperature sensors to measure at human skin temperature. The emitting area is 2.83 inches (72 mm) square and features extremely high sensitivity, stability, and uniformity. The HSB50 has an accuracy of ±0.05°C at 98.6°F (37°C), and is NIST Calibrated with a transfer standard at time of manufacture so that no error or offset is required. Annual NIST re-certification is available to maintain accuracy.
The HSB50 has a unique lightweight design with a compact footprint and built-in carry handle. With non-skid feet suitable for any horizontal surface, the HSB50 can be used as a bench top high accuracy reference device to verify the readings of hand-held non-contact infrared thermometers or thermal imaging cameras. Use the included tripod seat for temporary or permanent mounting to use the unit as a background reference for thermal imaging or elevated skin temperature scanning systems, providing greater accuracy in skin temperature measurements.
With an 85 to 250VAC power supply and included six-foot cord with selectable plug, the HSB50 can be used around the world without additional equipment. RS485 PC Interface is available as an option.
