Original Press Release:

Fujitsu High-speed Receipt Printer Mechanisms are 20 Percent Faster

San Jose, Calif. – April 3, 2019 -- Adding to its highly successful FTP-6xGMCL series, Fujitsu Components America today released 2- and 3-inch thermal printer mechanisms with 20 percent faster print speeds than the preceding models. The FTP- 6xGMCL163#10 series expands Fujitsu's mechanism offering for receipt-generating OEM applications, such as POS/self-service printers, ECRs, kiosk terminals, ticket dispensers, ATM machines, voting equipment, medical devices, and more.

The 24VDC, FTP-6xGMCL163#10 series outputs paper receipts ranging from 60-150µm thick at speeds of up to 250mm/sec (2,000 dot lines/sec). These mechanisms provide a straight paper path and feature Fujitsu's proprietary platen release to minimize paper jams and simplify maintenance of the thermal head, which has a life of 100km (62 miles) of paper.

The compact, low-profile FTP-6xG series features a rugged die-cast frame for ESD protection and shock/vibration resistance, as well as a heat-sink to allow for continuous printing. Optional auto cutters are available with a minimum life of 1 million cuts.

To help simplify the design process, Fujitsu interface boards are available and support both industry standard USB and Serial interfaces.
