LAS VEGAS, May 9 / - National Hardware Show, Booth #22506 - Black and yellow mark the spot with ShopLogic(TM), a line of power management products from Power Sentry with special safety, storage and convenience features designed for do-it-yourselfers and light contractors. The yellow/black color scheme makes for high visibility in a cluttered workshop, lighted switches enable easy power status checks, extra-long cords simplify work setup, built-in outlet dust covers keep outlets clean, and cord guides along the outside edges allow for tidy storage.
The ShopLogic family consists of 23 surge protectors, power strips, cord organizers and associated products with SRPs of $.99 to $39.99. Select assortments of four or five ShopLogic products are also sold as value packs priced at $19.99 to $59.99 (SRP).
The centerpiece of each kit is the ShopLogic PowerSquid(TM) Power Multiplier, a five-"tentacle" alternative to traditional power strips that eliminates the blocked-outlet problem encountered when using bulky adapters. The PowerSquid provides five flexible cords of varying lengths that allow plugs of any size to be positioned in staggered fashion to ensure full use of all outlets. It includes a lighted master switch with a built-in 15-amp circuit breaker, built-in keyhole slots for wall mounting, and a 4-foot 14/3 power cord. (Models with 8-, 15- and 25-foot cord lengths are available separately.)
Other kit items range from extension cords, cord organizers and adapters to swivel-handle surge strips and complete power centers, depending on the assortment selected.
Other highlights of the ShopLogic line include:
o ShopLogic 8-Outlet Power Center with GFCI (SRP $39.99), a rugged power
strip that meets OSHA guidelines for outdoor use and has a built-in
resettable Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter that reduces the risk of
electrocution in situations where the power is not properly grounded.
The unit has four standard-spaced and four adapter-spaced outlets, a
lighted switch with a 15-amp circuit breaker, integrated dust covers
to keep dirt and grime out of the outlets, a 15-foot 14/3 gauge power
cord with a clip-on plug, and built-in cord management.
o ShopLogic PowerSquid(TM) Surge Protector (SRP $29.99), featuring the
same five-cord design and usability benefits as the PowerSquid Power
Multiplier with the addition of surge suppression capabilities. The
product has a 540 joule rating, EMI/RFI noise filtration up to 40dB,
and patented automatic power shutdown technology that protects
connected devices against harmful surges once capacity has been
reached.
o ShopLogic 8-Outlet Surge Center (SRP $17.99), a unit with five
standard and three adapter-space outlets, a 1400 joule rating, a 6-
foot cord, a carrying handle, a lighted switch, and built-in cord
management and dust covers.
