Electri-Flex Launches New Specialty Conduit by Market Video
Electri-Flex Company, Roselle, IL, has recently launched a new video featuring Liquatite® flexible electrical conduit that is ideally suited for the following markets: Food Processing & Pharmaceuticals, Rail & Transit, Wastewater Utilities, Mining, Oil & Gas Refineries, Data Centers, and Ship Building & Aerospace. These Liquatite® varieties offer features above and beyond standard liquidtight conduit, and include additional properties such as corrosion-resistance, halogen-free, EMI/RFI shielding, high/low temperature, antimicrobial for food processing, lightweight, UV-resistance, and more.
Liquatite® flexible electrical conduits are ideally suited for a variety of markets, and with nearly 50 conduit types to choose from, they offer a wide selection, with varying sizes, types, and colors available. Product categories include jacketed metallic, nonmetallic, unjacketed metallic, EMI/RFI shielded, and stainless steel.
Food Processing & Pharmaceuticals
Flexible conduit ideally suited for the food, beverage and pharmaceuticals industries include Types LAFG, NMFG, and LSSFG. These conduits all provide an NSF/ANSI 169 certified component, meet FDA CFR 21 and NSF 51/61 requirements, provide a smooth exterior for easy wash-down, and are resistant to sodium hypochlorite. Additional features could include UL or CSA certification, antimicrobial, or corrosion-resistance.
Rail & Transit
Transportation applications, including rail, transit, and infrastructure, require flexible conduit solutions that are low fire hazard and zero-halogen, and include Types ZHLA and ZHSS. Type ZHSS offers additional corrosion-resistance with a stainless steel core. These conduits meet the requirements for Bombardier SMP 800-C for toxic gas generation, ASTM E162 for flame spread, and ASTM E662 for smoke generation.
Wastewater Utilities
Conduit varieties ideally suited for wastewater applications include corrosion-resistant Types LTSS, ATXSS, and ALT. Types LTSS and ATXSS have a stainless steel core, and Type ALT has an aluminum, lightweight core. Additional product features could include UV resistance or extreme temperatures.
Mining, Oil & Gas Refineries
Conduits that are tough, flexible, and able to withstand high or low temperature environments are ideal choices for mining, oil & gas refinery applications. These conduits include Types ATX, ATXSS, and ATLA, and all perform well in high and low temperature environments. Type ATX and ATXSS offer the largest temperature range of -60°C to 150°C, intermitting to 165°C.
Data Centers
Flexible conduit installed in Data Centers is often placed in overhead cable trays and under raised floors. Conduit solutions help identify wiring, meet safety requirements, and UL and CSA certifications. Conduit Types CBLA and ZHLA are ideally suited for Data Center installations. Type ZHLA is growing in use due to its zero-halogen, low fire hazard properties, and can be purchased in many jacketing colors, such as red and blue.
Ship Building & Aerospace
Ship Building applications require conduit that is built for safety, durability, UV resistance, and EMI/RFI shielding. Conduits should be free of halogens in the event of a fire and offer flameretardant properties, and these include Types ZHSS, HFSLA, and HFEMCS. Due to its stainless steel, corrosion-resistant core, Type ZHSS is ideal for humid marine environments. HFSLA and HFEMCS offer EMI/RFI shielding protection.
