New Filling Material with High Padding Effectiveness

Metzingen. Paperplus Chevron from Storopack is a light paper padding material, which as a so-called "top-and-void fill" product fills hollow spaces in transport packages at the same time cost-effectively. This is assured by the special folded structure, which achieves a high volume using relatively little paper. The padding length is form-flexible and has perforations for tearing off every 10 cm. It is therefore easy for staff at the packing table to fit the paper tube into the respective package.

Paperplus Chevron is suitable for the protection of lighter to medium-heavy products during transport. The "pleated skirt structure" of the packaging material provides shock absorbance: the 90 gram paper tube is pressed together, pleated and crumpled up. The result is good elastic recovery.

The pad is made as required. For this purpose, the Paperplus Chevron machines are placed at the conveyor or packing table and produce the respective amount of padding material needed directly at the workplace. The low space requirement has proven to be a particular asset when installing the machines. They measure just 185 cm x 60 cm x 100 cm (height/width/depth).

The production of the padding in the individually required lengths is carried out horizontally directly above the transport box or carton. This ensures efficient working procedures, as the packers only have to guide the padding downwards and place it into the open package.

With a running speed of 20 m packaging per minute, no waiting times arise during the packaging process. Storopack has been offering a new machine generation since November 2006.

Part of Storopack's packaging advisory services is also to ensure that the padding system is properly integrated into the respective logistics system, in order to provide an increase in productivity.
