New Dyna-Cell Robotic Bending Cell is Embedded with CADMAN Software Suite

Press Release Summary:

The Dyna-Cell Robotic Bending Cell consists of stacking area with a space to load and unload several pallets. The cell with electric press brake automate the bending of small- to medium-sized parts in varying batch sizes at speeds up to 25 mm per second. The Dyna-Cell is offered with a gripper that fits part sizes from 25 x 100 mm to 300 x 400 mm. The device takes 10 minutes for CAM generation for bending and robot program and 10 minute for set-up and first part generation.

Original Press Release:

Strippit LVD Launches New Robotic Electric Press Brake Cell

Akron, NY, November 1, 2018 – LVD Strippit introduces Dyna-Cell, a robotic bending cell featuring a high-speed electric press brake. The press brake and robot function as a compact, integrated unit to automate the bending of small- to medium-sized parts in varying batch sizes at bending speeds up to 1” (25 mm) per second. Dyna-Cell was introduced at EuroBLECH.

PRODUCTIVE & RELIABLE

Dyna-Cell is built on LVD’s proven Dyna-Press electric-drive platform. The cell combines the Dyna-Press Pro 40-ton press brake with 59” (1500 mm) working length and five-axis backgauge with a Kuka industrial robot to offer maximum bending productivity in a small footprint of 16 ft x 16 ft (5 m x 5 m).

Dyna-Cell incorporates a stacking area with space to load and unload several pallets. Finished parts are offloaded by the robot on to the appropriate pallet. When bending a large volume of small parts, no operator intervention is required for up to eight hours of automated production. Dyna-Cell’s design concept also allows for unmanned or manned operation offering a perfect bending solution for small / medium and large batch sizes.

UNIVERSAL GRIPPER

The robot features a unique gripper designed and patented by LVD for the Dyna-Cell. The gripper fits part sizes from 1” x 3.9” (25 mm x 100 mm) up to 11.8” x 15.7” (300 mm x 400 mm). Its compact size allows it to easily handle small parts and go between tool stations. Users can make bends

on three different sides of a part without regripping. Gripper suction cups are controlled via offline software and activated according to part size. Because one gripper fits all applications, production is continuous and uninterrupted.

10 MINUTES CAM – 10 MINUTES SET-UP

Dyna-Cell offers fast programming of part and robot following the 10-10 rule: 10 minutes for CAM generation of the bending and robot program and 10 minutes for set-up and first part generation. Even with parts positioned and manipulated by the robot, Dyna-Cell minimizes the time from “art to part.” When batch sizes are too small to benefit from robot automation, the robot can be placed in “park” position and the press brake can be used in standalone mode.

Dyna-Cell is equipped with the latest generation LVD Touch-B 15” touch screen control, which is fully integrated with the LVD CADMAN® software suite.
