New Dodge Caliber Compact Vehicle Features Gentex Mirror

ZEELAND, Mich., Dec. 14 -- Gentex Corporation, the leading supplier of automatic-dimming rearview mirrors to the worldwide automotive industry, has announced that it is supplying auto-dimming mirrors for the 2007 Dodge Caliber.

Dodge's new hatchback compact car, the Caliber, offers a Gentex base interior auto-dimming mirror as part of an optional driver's convenience package or is available in the UConnect(TM) Hands-Free Communication option on the SXT and R/T models. The vehicle is sold throughout North America and Europe.

Gentex auto-dimming mirrors automatically darken to reduce glare from the headlamps of vehicles approaching from the rear. The brighter the glare, the darker the mirrors become, making nighttime driving safer.

"The introduction of our products on the Dodge Caliber signifies the commitment DaimlerChrysler has to making safety features available to all its customers by adding the auto-dimming mirror to the list of options available on even its compact cars," said Gentex Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Enoch Jen.

Founded in 1974, Gentex Corporation (NASDAQ:GNTX) is an international company that provides high-quality products to the worldwide automotive industry and North American fire protection market. Based in Zeeland, Michigan, the Company develops, manufactures and markets interior and exterior automatic-dimming automotive rearview mirrors that utilize proprietary electrochromic technology to dim in proportion to the amount of headlight glare from trailing vehicle headlamps. Many of the mirrors are sold with advanced electronic features, and approximately 95 percent of the Company's revenues are derived from the sales of auto-dimming mirrors to nearly every major automaker in the world.
