New CommScope 50B Compact Enclosure Supports Both Wireless and Wireline High-Density Telecommunication Equipment

HICKORY, N.C., June 19 -- CommScope, Inc., (NYSE:CTV), a world leader in infrastructure solutions for communication networks, announced today the continued success of the newly released compact 50B cabinet for both wireline and wireless applications. The flexible design of the 50B compact enclosure supports high-density telecommunications equipment such as wireless radio, power and battery equipment and wireline voice, video and data networks.
"The flexibility of the 50B cabinet is impressive," said Ted Hally, CommScope executive vice president and general manager, Carrier. "The cabinet's scalability extends to the application, configuration and installation. Since the product introduction last March, carriers with both wireless and wireline applications are specifying the compact 50B cabinet to meet complex equipment requirements," explained Hally. The 50B cabinet is a small-footprint outdoor enclosure measuring 15" wide X 25" tall X 33" deep with 6RU (rack unit) of 19-inch equipment rack space. Fully sealed, the modular design easily adapts to pad, pole or wall mounts and is designed to accommodate growth.
In addition to supporting a variety of mounting options, the cabinet accepts a wide range of power input. The design also provides a high level of environmental protection and security. The hinged, tamperproof doors can lift off to allow for mounting ease and flexibility. The enclosure features durable, graffiti-resistant gray or beige powder coat paint finish, an integrated backup battery module, and various alarms to detect such conditions as high temperature and intrusion. Fully sealed for maximum electronics protection, the enclosure is designed for GR-487, Zone 4 compliance.
