Original Press Release:
AGC Chemicals to Launch Next-Generation Non-Flammable Fluorinated Precision Cleaning Solvents at MD&M East
Exton, Pa., November 16, 2021 -- Manufacturers of high-value medical devices require precision cleaning agents that are effective and environmentally friendly. To help meet these challenges, AGC has developed AMOLEA™ AS-300 and AS-300AT, based on new HCFO chemistry. These cleaning solvents are categorized as non-hazardous air pollutants with an ozone depletion potential of near zero and a global warming potential of less than one.
AGC will introduce AMOLEA AS-300 and AS-300AT cleaning solvents at MD&M East, booth 1350, December 7-9, at the Javits Convention Center in New York City.
AMOLEA AS-300 and AS-300AT are ideal replacements for HFC solvents, low boiling point HCFO solvents, as well as n-propyl bromide (nPB or 1-BP) and trichloroethylene, which are both undergoing risk evaluation under the TSCA. These new HCFO solvents have an advantageous boiling point that enables low evaporation, which means less solvent is consumed during the cleaning process. They also provide superior solvency with Kb value of 44 and 118 respectively and a favorable HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) profile.
At MD&M East, AGC will also feature:
FORBLUE™ sunsep™ gas humidifiers and dryers with highly moisture-selective membranes that can humidify oxygen and specialty gases or dry sample gases. They are simply structured with hollow fiber membranes and durable casings. The membranes are made from a fluorinated ionomer, so they have high chemical resistance and minimize permeability of gases other than moisture. They feature a simple mechanism of H2O pressure to cause wet/dry gas production.
AMOLEA™ AT2 and AsahiKlin™ AE-3000 environmentally sensible fluorinated solvents. These nonflammable fluorinated cleaning solvents provide a safer, highly effective and environmentally friendly alternative to other solvents such as n-propyl bromide and trichloroethylene. They are chemically and thermally stable and have no flash point.
