New Boeing 787 Airplane Program Implements Michigan Co's Advanced Metrologic V5 Inspection Solution

Oakland County, Michigan - March 6, 2007 - After several years of intensive developments and a close working relationship with the Boeing Company, Metrologic Group is pleased to announce the initial delivery of the Metrologic V5 Inspection Solution to the Boeing 787 Final Assembly and Delivery Program. This significant initial software license purchase confirms the commitment of the Boeing Company on the ongoing implementation of the Metrologic V5 Inspection Solution as part of its integrated Product Life Cycle Management Solution.
The Metrologic V5 Inspection Solution is based on two main components: Metrolog V5 for online operations and Silma V5 for offline process authoring and simulation. The Metrologic solution is the only embedded inspection suite available in Catia V5 leveraging a single source of authoritative data to communicate design intent for the purpose of measurement and analysis, which is available throughout the product lifecycle.
The 787 program has been leading the development and integration of this emergent technology and has addressed very unique requirements for assembly of large scale and complex aerospace structures benefiting from a direct link to the V5 design and engineering intent data.
