Original Press Release:

Acrison Model BDF Series Feeders Designed to Feed a Broad Range of Dry Solids Including The Most Difficult to Handle Materials

Acrison, Inc., an innovative global leader in dry solids metering and handling technologies for over 50 years, offers their various Model Bin Discharger (BDF Series) Feeders designed to produce positive flow and feed of even the most difficult handling dry solid ingredients.

The novel combination of two flow-inducing augers/agitators counter-rotating at the same speed, with a metering auger operating at a proportional, but dissimilar (slower) speed, produces positive flow-inducing internal agitation while simultaneously metering the product with a high degree of precision and reliability.

The Bin Discharger Feeder’s unique design, combined with this opposed multiple auger/agitator action and substantially increased gravity flow into the wide-throat inlet to the feed chamber, eliminates any type of convergence that could impede product flow and feed, ensuring smooth, gentle and unrestricted movement of even the most stubborn to handle materials.

Certain Model BDF Dry Solids Volumetric Feeders can also be designed to leave only a minimal amount of residual material when allowed to run empty. Available options include sanitary construction to satisfy USDA and FDA codes, and high temperature and pressure construction are also available. Model BDF Series Feeders are also used as the metering mechanisms of certain Acrison “Weight-Loss Differential” Weigh Feeders.
