New Affordable GPS/GNSS Rubidium Primary Reference Clock Sources

Spectratime's iReference+® series integrates the patented SmarTiming+® GPS/GNSS disciplining technology and low noise signal capability for high-performance applications

Austin, TX - Spectratime, a world-leading provider of atomic clocks and a business of the Orolia Group (NYSE Alternext Paris - FR0010501015 - ALORO), announces two new models of its iReference+ series of high performance and affordable rack-mountable GPS/GNSS + Rubidium reference clocks. The GNSSource(TM)-2500 and RbSource(TM)-1500 offer GPS/GNSS-synchronized 1PPS timing signals and 10 MHz frequency signals for high-precision lab equipment testing, measurement and calibration applications. These new products offer advanced timing and frequency capabilities in a compact, 1U package thanks to the patented SmarTiming+ GPS/GNSS disciplining technology, offering leading-edge 1 nanosecond resolution with a smart, auto-adaptive temperature and GPS noise compensation in real-time. The temperature compensation is performed at 0.1°C resolution, whereas the GPS/GNSS noise compensation is performed with a variable loop time constant of 1 to 100,000 seconds, depending on the GPS/GNSS signal noise level.

According to Pascal Rochat, Founder and Managing Director of Spectratime, "Disciplined Rubidium clocks can perform poorly in the holdover condition, in the case of loss of the reference, if the GPS/GNSS reference signal is noisy and the temperature swings widely. Our SmarTiming+ technology compensates these holdover-affecting issues, providing superior performance for high-precision applications when compared with competing products".

The RBSource-1500 integrates the smart LNRClok Rubidium (Rb) clock and the SmarTiming+ GPS/GNSS disciplining technology, allowing the user to seamlessly feed an external, in-house GPS/GNSS reference system to the Rb clock. Control and monitoring is provided through the RS-232 interface. The price of the RBSource-1500 is $2,995.

For users without an in-house GPS/GNSS reference standard, the GNSSource-2500 includes an integrated GPS/GNSS receiver. It also offers the benefit of low noise signal capability for the most demanding applications. The price of the low-noise GNSSource-2500 is $4,995.
