New 412B Series of Sensors from Leuze Electronic are Designed for Compact Installation Spaces

Press Release Summary:

Leuze Electronic’s new 412B optical sensors, which offer better operating range and response time, feature metal housing, cylindrical design, 270 degree potentiometers, and glass optics. The sensors include throughbeam photoelectric, retro-reflective photoelectric, and energetic diffuse reflection types, with laser and NPN switching output options for the throughbeam photoelectric sensors.

Original Press Release:

A compact and space-saving solution

With the 412B series, Leuze electronic presents a new cylindrical sensor in the area of switching optical sensors which, with its compact, space-saving design, convinces above all in locations where little installation space is available.

With the 412B series in metal housing, Leuze electronic presents a slim, cylindrical M12 sensor design that is especially well suited for use in tight installation spaces, as occur in, e.g., material flow or in packaging machines. Compared to the previous series, the new series of switching optical sensors for object detection has an even more compact design and is available with various function principles: as throughbeam photoelectric sensor, energetic diffuse reflection sensor and as retro-reflective photoelectric sensor. In addition to improved performance data such as operating range, response time and glass optics, laser variants as well as models with NPN switching outputs are available for the throughbeam photoelectric sensors. Focus of the new development was primarily on the simple and intuitive adaptation to use by means of 270° potentiometer.

More than 50 years experience have made Leuze electronic real experts in innovative and efficient sensor solutions for industrial automation. Its main focus is on the areas of intralogistics, packaging industry, machine tools and automotive industry as well as laboratory automation. The product range includes switching and measuring sensors, identification systems, solutions for image processing and data transmission and also occupational safety components and systems. Leuze electronic was founded in 1963 at the current headquarters of the sensor system manufacturer in Owen/Teck, southern Germany.
