Original Press Release:

RACO Expands Old Work Pan Line

South Bend, Indiana December 17, 2019 - RACO introduces the 290 model 3.5" Old Work Pan. This shallow round electrical box mounts light fixtures to existing ceilings or walls. RACO, part of Hubbell Commercial Construction, provides innovative electrical products to commercial and residential markets.

RACO's new 290 electrical box is designed to support light fixtures on the ceiling or wall in existing or retrofit applications. Three and a half inches in diameter and only half inch deep, the shallow pan doesn't interfere with plumbing or other obstructions already inside the wall. The 290 compliments the popular four inch 297 Old Work Pan.

The flange and bracket design allows the 290 to be used on half inch or 5/8 inch drywall without stud mounting. After cutting the proper size hole, simply insert the bracket and tighten the screw to secure the pan in place. The 290 provides two 1/2 inch knockouts for connecting cable as well as a raised ground. Zinc plated steel construction provides a 2-hour fire rating.

RACO's new product provides electrical contractors an effective way to reduce installation time and increase productivity. The 290 will support light fixtures up to 6lbs. Easy to follow instructions and mounting hardware are included.

Availability of the RACO 290 Old Work Pan begins December 2019. Find more information at www.hubbell.com.
