New ION POWER(TM) Neutralizers Deliver Intelligent Static Control

Easier to network, better communication.

ION POWER is the next generation of Virtual AC(TM) Intelligent Static Neutralizers with plug-n-play versatility and real-time charge monitoring, providing even more ways to integrate superior static control into plant, line or machine automation.

(Windsor Locks, Conn.) The next generation of intelligent static control systems has been announced by MKS ION Industrial with the launch of the new ION POWER(TM) Virtual AC(TM) Static Neutralizers. The new system features advanced solid-state engineering captured in compact plug-and-play communication/control modules and static bars that easily connect to industrial networks or automated machinery. This highly innovative system offers a significantly enhanced level of control and systems integration ideally suited to all web converting and plastic bag making applications with the ability to
neutralize static charges from over 30 inches away and on webs moving over 3,000 fpm.

To integrate ION POWER Neutralizers with machinery, the new 8300 COMMUNICATOR modules
connect the 8100 POWER MODULES to industrial networks to bring the best control functions, system diagnostics, and real time static control data to the operator's fingertips.

Through a two-wire RS-485 bus, the 8100 POWER MODULE shares with the 8300 COMMUNICATOR real-time data on system power, neutralizer status, system diagnostics, and static control. The 8300 COMMUNICATOR, in turn, communicates through the network with a PLC or host computer using several of the popular fieldbus protocols, including Profibus, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP and others using Fieldbus-specific Anybus-CompactCom interface modules. Quick-connect ports and a hardwired terminal block make system connections a snap. Additional terminal blocks inside the 8300 unit can also be used to power several stations from a single DC power source. Sized approximately five inches long
by 1.5 inches high, the 8300 COMMUNICATOR can be easily mounted on a DIN-rail or panel.

Other ION POWER components include the 8200 MANAGER Master Controller, which can
monitor and control up to nine static neutralizing stations while displaying the performance and diagnostic parameters for each individual system, including ion output and neutralizing current values for each station.
