NetXen Wins Illustrious Best of Interop Grand Prize

NetXen's Industry-leading 10 Gigabit Ethernet Technology Wins Grand Prize and Infrastructure Category Best of Interop Awards

SANTA CLARA, Calif., and LAS VEGAS, May 25 -- NetXen, Inc., a leading provider of breakthrough 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) technology, has been named "Best of Interop" in the Infrastructure Category and was also selected as "Best of Interop Grand Prize Winner" for its 10G Ethernet Expansion Card. The Best of Interop awards are hand-selected by Network Computing's panel of expert judges.

"Winning the Best of Interop Awards is a tremendous validation of NetXen's 10GbE technology and Intelligent NIC(TM) approach," said David Pulling, president of NetXen. "It recognizes and is a testament to the technical vision and hard work of the NetXen team."

"The Best of Interop Awards are always an indicator of the most innovative and exciting offerings in these product categories, and this year's winners are no exception," said Art Wittmann, editor in chief, Network Computing. "NetXen and each of the category winners have truly demonstrated superior technology and innovation, and deserve recognition for their contributions to the industry."

The 10G Ethernet Expansion Card is based on NetXen's Intelligent NIC technology. It is a high-performance layer-2 NIC that can support offload of TCP/IP, iSCSI and RDMA protocols, significantly improving throughput of servers, server appliances and storage platforms while reducing host CPU utilization. This allows overall system performance to scale dramatically, in an energy efficient manner.

The NetXen 10G Ethernet programmable Intelligent NIC device is designed to offload and accelerate processing tasks. It is built around NetXen's revolutionary Protocol Processing Engine architecture.
