OTTAWA, July 16 -- AFORE Solutions, Inc., a leader in the design and delivery of technology solutions for the networking industry, announces its InterPort(TM) licensable software solution supporting Provider Backbone Bridges (PBB) and Provider Backbone Bridge Traffic Engineering (PBB-TE).
The InterPort PBB/PBB-TE software solution contains a suite of software modules which include a PBB/PBB-TE control module, enhanced Service OAM module for PBB/PBB-TE and enhanced Ethernet-APS module for PBB-TE protection switching. This combination offers a standard compliant (IEEE 802.1ah, 802.1Qay) solution for Carrier Ethernet, mobile backhaul, broadband access and aggregation, data center interconnect and other applications which leverage Ethernet as a transport technology.

PBB-TE introduces traffic engineering, connection oriented forwarding model, OAM and protection switching capabilities into carrier Ethernet networks. The InterPort suite of software, available in licensable pre-packaged modules, are fully compliant with 802.1ag, 802.3ah, 802.1ah and 802.1Qay standards from the IEEE, and MEF UNI 2.2, Y.1731 Service OAM and G.8031 standards.
InterPort software modules are platform and operating system independent solutions for Metro and Carrier Ethernet, WiMAX, LTE and Mobile/Microwave backhaul systems in addition to meeting the needs of enterprise backbone and industrial Ethernet equipment providers.
