Wedge Networks Releases Next-Generation Network Security Appliance: BeSecure NDP-2040NX

LAS VEGAS, May 22 -- INTEROP, BOOTH #1779 -- Wedge Networks, a leading provider of industrial-strength network security solutions, today announced the release of the BeSecure NDP-2040NX, the first multi-gigabit network security appliance to provide an inline anti-virus, anti-spam and anti-malware solution for the next generation of heterogeneous networks.

Representing an order of magnitude increase in performance in a compact, easy-to-purchase and easy-to-install enclosure, the NDP-2040NX breaks through the barriers preventing medium to large enterprise and service providers from deploying a cost-effective, high-performance network anti-malware system.

Incredible Performance

"Today's next-generation networks require security that won't bog down the infrastructure," said Pat Hinds, VP of Sales at Wedge Networks. "A customer recently brought us a security deployment scenario that would have required 40 separate boxes of another firm's solution. With the new NDP-2040NX, we are able to satisfy their throughput requirements with just a single, 2U box. It's that kind of innovation that makes the NDP-2040NX the most cost-effective, high-performance appliance on the market today."

Multi-Protocol

In addition to providing multi-gigabit throughput, the BeSecure NDP-2040NX also raises the bar on multi-protocol content scanning, with not only email and FTP scanning but also http scanning, something few companies can currently handle at today's network speeds. The 2040NX's high-performance engine allows it to seamlessly scan deep into nested, zipped files in transit to provide the most coverage of any solution currently on the market, with the fewest false-positives.

Technical Innovations

The NDP-2040NX features two state-of-the-art Intel Woodcrest Dual-core CPU's and up to 32 Gigabytes of high-speed memory. When deployed with Wedge Networks' highly optimized and scalable BeSecure engine, the 2040NX is able to protect multi-gigabit-per-second networks with a message handling capacity of millions-per-hour. Installed as an inline device at the network edge of a data center, the NDP-2040NX seamlessly provides anti-spam, anti-virus, and anti- malware content inspection with the industry's best detection and false positive rates. No application-level modifications are necessary in order for users to benefit from this new level of content assurance provided by the system.

Launching at Interop 2007 in Las Vegas

Wedge Networks will be demonstrating the NDP-2040NX at Interop 2007 in Last Vegas, NV. Come and take a look at this ground-breaking system at Booth #1779. Sales appointments and technical consultations are available by request.
