Fluke Networks Introduces Visual Performance Manager(TM) 6.0

New Ability to Correlate Network Utilization and Application Performance Metrics Provides Enterprise-Wide Visibility for Better Networked Application Performance Management

EVERETT, Washington - Fluke Networks today announced the release of Visual Performance Manager(TM) 6.0, a unified system that provides actionable visibility to help organizations deploy, manage, solve and optimize the delivery of enterprise applications. The newest version of Visual Performance Manager offers all levels of the organization superior visibility and in-depth analysis by correlating network utilization metrics flow data sources with application response metrics to manage network performance for a level of granularity previously unavailable to users. This level of networked application visibility allows large distributed organizations to gain efficiencies, better leverage existing investments in network infrastructure and deliver better results by quickly driving to root cause and problem resolution.

This version of Visual Performance Manager also introduces IntelliTrace(TM), a patent pending technology that, within seconds, provides users with an intelligent trace file retrieval that is based on a particular application performance event or degradation in service delivery. With this technology, users can go from a transaction to the relevant packets which can then be easily shared with counterparts or supporting vendors.

"In today's business climate everyone is being asked to do more with less and discover even more organizational efficiencies to save time and critical dollars," said Lyn Cantor, Vice President and General Manager, Fluke Networks Systems. "With Visual Performance Manager 6.0, we deliver a best-in-class system designed to provide superior visibility into network and application performance at all levels of the IT organization and during all phases of core IT projects, whether application life cycle management, infrastructure change, data center consolidation or IT governance."

"For the network to be perceived as delivering good service quality, it must be measured in terms of the application performance it enables."

Being able to provide correlated application performance and usage metrics will provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 network operations teams with improved efficiency in their ability to quickly isolate problem domain when dealing with networked application issues. For line of business executives, application and network performance can be grouped and viewed as business functions such as a project, department, or business unit. The ability to link performance information to the business allows line of business executives to determine the impact of application performance on the business.
