Network Optimization Suite Provides Quality of Service for Wireless Networks
ORLANDO, Fla., May 23 -- ISPCON, Booth #507 -- Propel Software Corporation (http://www.propel.com/), a market leader in Internet acceleration solutions, today announced the availability of Propel® Accelwize(TM), a suite of network optimization products designed specifically for wireless carriers and shared bandwidth providers. Propel Accelwize provides unprecedented bandwidth management, acceleration, and quality-of- service (QoS) benefits for wireless networks.
Propel Accelwize, which is available today, will be demonstrated at the Propel booth at ISPCON. It consists of two products that can be deployed independently or together for maximum benefit.
The first product, Propel Accelwize End Point Optimizer (EPO), runs on end-user devices, providing bandwidth management and QoS functionality at the source. Most bandwidth management products have difficulty managing traffic on shared infrastructure networks like wireless, WiMAX, mobile and cable networks. With Propel Accelwize EPO, broadcast and UDP traffic is managed before it leaves the user's machine and impacts the shared network. It prioritizes an individual's network traffic based on complete application awareness. Users can communicate via VoIP, transfer files, and surf simultaneously with optimal performance, even inside VPN tunnels. In addition, Propel Accelwize EPO works in concert with existing traffic management appliances so providers get the benefits of optimization at both the end points and mid points.
The second product in the suite, the award-winning Propel® Accelerator(TM), speeds up Web browsing, email transfers and file downloads. With its advanced compression technology and Dynamic Imaging, ISPs can provide a distinctly faster Internet experience to their low-speed broadband, wireless mobile data, 802.11 hotspots and dial-up users. Overall, Web surfing and email data reduction can range from 70% to 90% depending on the range of final graphics qualities used. Propel Accelerator optimizes TCP traffic to reduce the impact of high latency and packet loss in wireless networks that results in a significantly better end-user experience whenever networks are slow or congested.
