XCode(R) 4100 Series: A Powerful Single Chip SoC Multi-Stream HD Transcoder & Encoder Product family
TORONTO, -- ViXS Systems Inc., a leader in highly innovative and advanced networked multimedia solutions, will be showcasing the new High Performance Single & Dual HD Transcoder/Encoder XCode(R) 4100 Network Media Processor family at CES 2010. The XCode(R) 4100 Series consists of two main products, the XCode(R) 4115 and the low power version XCode 4105.
The XCode(R) 4115 media processor is a single chip having the ability to transcode two HD 1080i60 or two 1080p30 video streams simultaneously in real-time. The transcoder engine also supports full 1080p60 MPEG-2, H.264 or VC-1 to 1080p60 MPEG-2 or H.264 transcoding as well as supporting over-the-top (OTT) internet audio and video content. The XCode(R) 4115 provides multiple interfaces such as USB, Ethernet, SATA and PCI. The XCode(R) 4105 media processor is designed for low power USB based SoC applications with the ability to transcode HD to HD streams in real-time based on multiple formats, including common internet formats. The ViXS TransXmedia(TM) Intelligent USB Transcoder reference design is currently available and showcases the full functionality of the XCode(R) 4105.
The XCode(R) 4100 Network Media Processor family includes Smart XCode(TM) technology which is based on sophisticated algorithms that dynamically switch between a highly efficient smart transcode and a full decode and full encode transcode mode. By taking advantage of the Smart XCode(TM) technology, Consumer Electronics, Set-Top Box (STB), and broadcast equipment manufacturers can develop highly flexible and robust media solutions, offering the utmost in video quality performance in their products.
The XCode(R) 4100 family is targeted at advanced products such as Cable STBs, IPTV STBs, Personal Video recorders (PVRs), Low Power Intelligent USB Transcoders, Place-shifting devices, Digital Televisions (DTVs), Blu-Ray PVR/Recorders, Home Media Servers and Home Networked Attached Storage (NAS) devices.
