Vicon Offers Its New Network Control System


Hauppauge, NY, January 15, 2002.Vicon Industries Inc. introduces its NOVA V1500 CPU Digital Network Control. The Vl500 is a network-ready central controller for matrix switching systems and video peripherals such as camera dome systems, keypads and receivers.

The Vl500 supports over 8000 cameras, 500 monitors and 64 keypad stations. An all-new PC-based design allows the VI 500 CPU to control local and remote switching systems, creating large distributed security and video communication applications on local, national and global scales. Through a companion V1500-CDU Communications Distribution Unit, the V1500 CPU can extend beyond the normal network environment to communicate with today's existing non-network based systems components.

The V1500-CDU acts as a gateway, converting 100Base-T Ethernet communication into Vicon's standard RS-422 protocol for keypads, dome cameras, distribution units and switching systems. The V1500 offers complete system redundancy through an active hot stand-by. The Windows-based unit also includes an embedded graphic interface for programming and operation.
