CommScope Introduces Uniprise® Foiled Twisted Pair Solution

Total Product Solution for End-to-End Channel Performance

HICKORY, N.C., Oct. 12 -- CommScope Inc. (NYSE:CTV), a world leader in cable and connectivity solutions, has developed its new Uniprise Foiled Twisted Pair (FTP) Solution to address the cabling preferences of its customers in specific markets such as automotive, industrial and the Federal government. The Uniprise FTP solution is a total solution product set and includes Category 6 and 5e cabling, patch cords, modular patch panels and information outlets. Each of these components is designed to meet the specifications set forth in TIA/EIA, IEC 60603 and ISO/IEC 11801 standards.

"At CommScope, we know there are a number of applications in several industries that benefit from an FTP solution, and we're dedicated to meeting the needs of our customers," said Mark Peterson, Senior Vice President, Global Marketing, Enterprise, CommScope. "We wanted to provide a range of specified solutions from a single source that would enable users to satisfy their UTP, FTP, fiber or coax cabling requirements. Our FTP solution offers end-to-end channel performance and is tested and verified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL), a product testing, safety and certification organization."

The product solution is designed to certain specifications for use in high-noise environments where electromagnetic devices could impair the network. Uniprise's FTP solution also provides a plug-and-play design to facilitate easy interconnection without the use of special tools.

The FTP modular panel accommodates 24 FTP information outlets, which allows for simple termination of 4-pair FTP cables. Its "1U" design maximizes valuable rack space, with the information outlet snapping easily into standard faceplates, surface-mount boxes and consolidation point boxes. The design is also backward-compatible with lower category cords and cables. All of these components create an FTP solution that offers excellent performance for Category 6 and 5e applications.

The Uniprise FTP Solution is now available in North America, and more information about it can be found at www.commscope.com.
