Inter-Tel Announces Release of Inter-Tel® 5000 v1.2



TEMPE, Ariz., Dec. 12 -- Inter-Tel, Incorporated (NASDAQ:INTL), a leading provider of voice and data communications solutions for businesses, has announced the release of its Inter-Tel® 5000 Network Communications Solutions v1.2. This latest version of the IP-centric solution offers a number of system upgrades, including increased voice mail and messaging capabilities, enhanced endpoint support and improved diagnostics.

The Inter-Tel® 5000 Network Communications Solutions incorporates both the Inter-Tel® 5200 system, which has a capacity of 25 IP endpoints, and the Inter-Tel® 5400 system, scalable up to 110 IP endpoints. Both systems are IP-centric in design, offer embedded voice mail, and can support both digital and analog endpoints. Each system also can be networked to Inter-Tel's Axxess® platform.

o New call log feature, allowing users to easily view recent call activity
o Re-designed user directory interface to expedite locating specific names and numbers
o Integration of automatic NAT (network address translation) detection to simplify moving endpoints to remote locations
o Ability to connect DSS units to digital endpoints
o Improved diagnostics
o Increased features for third-party providers
