WIN Enterprises Announces Economical Desktop Platform with Freescale(TM) P1010 Processor



North Andover, Mass. - WIN Enterprises announces the PL-80390, a compact network security platform designed for Internet security applications. The device supports applications such as firewall, SPAM filtering, VPN, UTM, gateway, router, and internet services. It is suitable for SOHO (Small Office, Home Office), SMB (Small Medium Business), and ROBO (Remote Office, Branch Office) segments. The unit is designed with the Freescale(TM) P1010 processor and supports DDR3 on-board memory. It supports two Atheros® AR8033/AR8035 GbE Ethernet ports with bypass function and four GbE Switch ports.

Each Ethernet interface has its own LED to indicate line activity and transfer rate status. For ease-of-access; the back panel has USB 2.0 ports and a console port for local system management, maintenance and diagnostics. The device allocates space for an optional slim-type 2.5" SATA HDD and one mini-PCIe slot for wireless Ethernet module. It is FCC and CE compliant.

    Software Support

    The unit provides PowerPC Linux SMP-mode kernel support. PL-80390 is not designed to support specific Linux versions, but Freescale's SDK is recommended for a software development environment (downloadable from Freescale website).
