eMerge 3.3, the Network Appliance for Managing Physical Security, Introduced at ASIS

Major Enhancements Made to the Newest Generation

Anaheim, Calif. (September 21, 2009) - Linear LLC, a market innovator in RF remote controls, access control and wireless security systems for residential and commercial applications, today introduced a new product from its International Electronics' (IEI) product group, eMerge Version 3.3, the latest and most robust version of the well-known eMerge family of network appliances for managing physical security. Linear acquired IEI in 2007 and recently completed the transition of all the company's operations (see accompanying press release about the transition).

The eMerge platform provides access control, video management, event monitoring, interactive reporting, and alarm panel interface -- all in one integrated system.
eMerge 3.3 has a substantially upgraded architecture, including an expanded system memory for full on-board backups, custom reports tailored to individual needs, an enhanced ODBC compliant database, regional anti-passback, LDAP user authentication, and much more, making this the most feature-rich version of the eMerge platform.

The announcement comes on the occasion of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS International) Annual Seminars and Exhibits held here. ASIS is the pre-eminent organization for security professionals, with more than 37,000 members worldwide.
"This version of eMerge has an intuitive interface, along with an extensive set of new management tools and capabilities, offering security professionals sophisticated capabilities for small to large applications alike," said Gary Baker, Linear Vice President of Marketing. "Now with Version 3.3, the functionality of the eMerge platform is greatly enhanced."

Lower Total Cost of Ownership

eMerge also offers users a significantly lower total cost of ownership over traditional security systems. As a network appliance, eMerge comes with installed software and firmware, including embedded Linux operating system, ODBC-compliant database and web server.

Version 3.3 of eMerge 5000 is available immediately, with pricing based on specific system configuration. Version 3.3 of the eMerge 50 will be available early in the fourth quarter of 2009.

Together with the launch of eMerge 3.3., Linear/IEI will introduce the two-door Micronode expansion can, a controller for distributed processing applications that permits users to expand the eMerge system to more access points throughout a facility.
