Fluke Networks Launches OptiView® 5.4 with Enhanced Wireless Deployment and Analysis Capabilities

Single Tool Ensures Optimal Network Performance of Wired or Wireless Networks, now with Industry-leading Wi-Fi Analysis and Surveying

EVERETT, Wash., -- Fluke Networks today announced the availability of version 5.4 for the OptiView® Network Analyzer, further advancing OptiView as the leading analysis solution to speed and simplify network and application troubleshooting across wired and wireless networks. With OptiView 5.4, Fluke Networks successfully integrates its recently acquired AirMagnet Wi-Fi Analyzer and AirMagnet Survey software onto OptiView's powerful, portable network management and analysis solution to deliver a deep view from anywhere in an enterprise's network infrastructure in one tool.

OptiView 5.4, with the new wireless option, gives IT network staff and engineers visibility on both sides of the access point when installing and maintaining 802.11 wireless LANs. The strong technology combination reduces the number of analysis tools to carry, manage, learn and maintain by creating one tool for the entire lifecycle of wireless deployment. With this complete 802.11a/b/g/n toolset, network professionals can discover, diagnose, solve and report problems, while ensuring the network is secure by automatically detecting security threats and other wireless network vulnerabilities.

"The fact is, there are still a lot of wires in a wireless network. When installing wireless LANs or troubleshooting connectivity and performance issues in today's networks, engineers are demanding one tool that can see both sides of an access point, and that is why we continue to add increasingly powerful wireless troubleshooting capabilities onto the OptiView analyzer," said Dan Klimke, marketing manager for Fluke Networks line of portable analysis products. "The availability of OptiView 5.4, with its successful integration of award-winning technology acquired through Fluke Networks' purchase of AirMagnet ultimately delivers even more value to OptiView owners."

The integrated AirMagnet technology, AirMagnet Wi-Fi Analyzer and AirMagnet Survey software, combines the power of industry-leading Wi-Fi analysis with the industry's most accurate WLAN design and deployment solution to ensure optimal performance, security and compliance. Active WLAN diagnostic tools enable network engineers to easily test and diagnose dozens of common wireless performance issues including throughput issues, connectivity issues, device conflicts and signal multipath problems.

With OptiView 5.4, additional features allow network engineers to monitor 10Gig interfaces via SNMP-based infrastructure analysis and more easily analyze traffic flows on critical links. The analyzer's network discovery has been enhanced for speed and depth of vision into wireless LANs, and VoIP analysis has been strengthened with the ability to simultaneously place VoIP calls from the analyzer itself while testing call quality.
