TamoSoft Releases the Next Version of the CommView Network Analyzer Product Line

Christchurch, New Zealand -- TamoSoft® announces the immediate availability of the next version of its popular network analyzers for Windows 2000/XP/2003: CommView® 5.3 for wired networks and CommView® for WiFi 5.3 for wireless 802.11 a/b/g networks.

CommView and CommView for WiFi are powerful network monitors, analyzers, and protocol decoders. The intuitive interface teamed with a very high level of usability make these products popular among a wide circle of users: from system and network administrators to students studying network protocols, from special police and army units to security-minded home users. Loaded with many user-friendly features, CommView combines performance and flexibility with an ease of use unmatched in the industry. It helps network professionals maintain efficient network data transmission, deploy LANs and WLANs, test firewalls and intrusion detection systems, or identify problems with network-based applications.

The newest CommView versions integrate high-precision geolocation technology that provides real-time IP-to-location mapping. This functionality, not yet available in other network analyzers, allows the user to see the geographic location of the IP packets captured by the application, which is helpful in analyzing application connections and security incidents. Other new features introduced in version 5.3 include customizable e-mail alerts, a more flexible GUI, automatic detection of unauthorized Ad Hoc networks, support for Intel® Centrino® wireless adapters, and a few other improvements.

CommView and CommView for WiFi are available through www.tamos.com as well as through a network of distributors and resellers. The business versions of these products cost $499 (US), which includes one year of free upgrades and technical support. For remote data monitoring, an optional Remote Agent add-on is available for $99. The price for CommView 5.3 for home users is only $99. A 30-day trial version, technical specifications and the data sheet are available for download at the TamoSoft Web site. Localized user interface includes English, German, Russian, and Spanish.
