Original Press Release:

DDC Secures the Future of Fibre Channel & High-Speed 1760 with Next-Gen Network Access Controllers!

Bohemia, New York -- Data Device Corporation (DDC) introduces the next generation of FibreACCESS® Fibre Channel and High-Speed 1760 PMC Network Access Controllers, to support the long term requirements of systems employing these highly robust and reliable data networking protocols. These cards represent a technology refresh that extends operational support, while maintaining form, fit and functionality with our prior generation of Fibre Channel cards to facilitate a seamless transition. Furthermore, these new cards maintain software compatibility, at the API level, to protect our customers’ investment in software development. While solutions that utilize commercial-based controller ASICs may render products obsolete, without warning, DDC’s cards utilize in-house developed fibre channel technology (Intellectual Property), enabling us to provide longer product life cycles.

As a high-reliability solution provider for military, aerospace and industrial programs spanning decades, DDC understands long life cycle system requirements, and employs a proactive approach to managing obsolescence, thus ensuring continuous service and support. As a reflection upon our long history and commitment to superior service, DDC has earned top supplier excellence awards from companies including Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, L-3 Communication Systems, General Atomics, and Honeywell, who value, as DDC does, a long-term commitment to reliable, uninterrupted support.

The cards provide leading edge performance and feature two independent channels, supporting switched fabric, point-to-point, and arbitrated loop topologies. Available with either copper or fiber optic interfaces, front and rear panel I/O configurations, and temperature range options of 0°C to +71°C  and  -40°C to +85°C, the cards can be configured to support both embedded and lab applications ranging from mission computers and weapons interfaces to test and simulation equipment. The cards provide TCP/IP, ASM, and FC-AE-1553 upper layer protocols, and come complete with a complimentary suite of free software drivers and development kits to facilitate efficient implementation and flexible usability.
