Neopac Wins Swiss Star 2013 for Child-Resistant Nozzle Tube

The worldwide smallest child-resistant Polyfoil® nozzle tube impressed the jury: Neopac won the Swiss Star award 2013 in the prototypes category. The developers received the prestigious packaging award yesterday, 17 October 2013, at Hotel Seedam Plaza in Pfäffikon.

Child-resistant caps are becoming increasingly important on the pharmaceutical market, particularly in the USA, where new safety regulations for products and packaging are applied.

Neopac has developed a range of tubes with child-resistant caps for their small diameter tubes. That was a big challenge: the cap and the nozzle both had to fit inside only 11 mm. The built-in mechanism only releases the cap if the user pushes and turns the cap at the same time. The new cap fits with the existing nozzle range from Neopac.

The German Institute of Packaging Market Research (IVM) tested and certified the tubes in June 2013: the cap is child-safe and senior-friendly.

Neopac is pleased to have won its fourth Swiss Star Award in five years. The prize is both confirmation and incentive to work on new packaging functions and designs that protect the consumers and make it simpler to use their medications.
