Miniature Neon Lamps Bright And Shock-Resistant

A full line of low-cost, ruggedized, miniature neon lamps that are designed for indicator applications requiring operation directly from 110/220 VAC is being introduced by Gilway Technical Lamp of Woburn, Massachusetts.

Gilway Miniature Neon Lamps are available in standard red and green colors, with or without a series resistor, and provide brightness up to 5.0 mcd. Measuring only 3.2 mm to 6.0 mm dia., these shock- and vibration resistant lamps are designed for indicator applications operating directly from 110/220 VAC or >90 VDC and are rated for 15,000 to 50,000 hours operation.

Constructed by mounting two electrodes within a small glass envelope, with two tin plated Dumet metal leads for electrical connections, Gilway Miniature Neon Lamps are filled with either a neon-argon gas mixture or pure neon gas, depending upon model. Custom lamps can be provided to emit blue or yellow by coating the inside surface of the envelope with phosphor.
