BARCELONA, Spain, Feb. 14 / -- NeoMagic Corporation (NASDAQ:NMGC), a leader and pioneer in developing and delivering low-power solutions for multimedia-rich mobile phones and handheld devices, announced that they are showing a mobile phone demonstrator receiving broadcasts from BT Movio using NeoMagic technology to implement the BT Movio DAB IP digital mobile TV system at 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona. (Stand #D152)

NeoMagic collaborated with The Technology Partnership (TTP) to develop the mobile phone demonstrator based on NeoMagic's flagship product, MiMagic 6+ suitable for feature and smartphones. With the high performance Multimedia engine in MiMagic 6+, consumers will be able to view high quality video broadcasts, at very low power consumption on their handsets. The solution is ready for OEM's, ODM's, and wireless operators to roll out on phones today.

NeoMagic's Mobile Digital Television solution is implemented using TTP's DAB IP software and hardware for mobile TV broadcast protocols. TTP's solution currently encompasses transmissions based on an extension of DAB. For other broadcast regions and operators, the solution can be easily adapted to other protocols including DVB-H. TTP's DAB IP mobile digital TV solution also encompasses the Microsoft® Windows Media Digital Rights Management and Windows Media Audio and Video (WMV) codecs. Microsoft's high quality video codec and DRM solution is a choice for a growing number of mobile digital TV broadcasters and operators worldwide.

"NeoMagic is very excited about supporting BT with this Mobile TV solution and we are looking forward to expanding on this development," said Mr. Doug Young, NeoMagic Corporation's President and Chief Executive Officer. "Our offering will allow BT Movio to get to market quickly and give their consumers the Mobile TV feature they are demanding today."

"BT is very excited about this development and is looking forward to handset manufacturers taking advantage of the rapid time to market NeoMagic's solution has enabled with their platform," said Emma Lloyd, General Manager of BT Movio.

"TTP is very pleased to be working with NeoMagic as it demonstrates our hardware and software platform for open multi-standard mobile TV delivery which is now possible on low cost, low power feature phones," said Martin Orrell, General Manager of Digital Broadcast mobile TV.
