ND SatCom Delivers 50th SNG Vehicle to GlobeCast

Friedrichshafen, July 9, 2007 - ND SatCom, an SES ASTRA company, announced today the delivery of the 50th SNG (Satellite News Gathering) vehicle to broadcast service provider GlobeCast who supplies ND SatCom compactSNGs to broadcasters in France and Italy for live news and sports gathering. Whilst most of these vehicles have primarily been operated by French radio and TV stations, ND SatCom and GlobeCast now strengthen their cooperation for the Italian broadcast market. A recently integrated compactSNG is the first vehicle in GlobeCast Italia's SNG network operated by remote-control via database. Combining GlobeCast's workflow database with ND SatCom's Automatic Pointing System (APS) - based on one-button operation - allows more cost-efficient news gathering and reporting. The advantage of this system is that it allows news reporters and sports journalists to operate the SNG vehicle without any specialist support. Thus producing personnel cost savings and enhancing the journalist's ability to focus on their editorial work. Dr. Gerhard Bommas, Managing Director & CTO of ND SatCom, states: "GlobeCast is one of our most important European SNG customers. We have maintained a long-term, trusting relationship with GlobeCast. I look forward to continuing this mutually beneficial cooperation in the European broadcast landscape."
