Omnetics Introduces New Single Row Nano Connectors
Lowest profile metal-shelled connector available for direct PCB to connector configuration
Minneapolis, Minnesota, April 2007...Omnetics, the leading USA manufacturer of miniature high rel connectors has launched a single row version of its Nano-Miniature Bi-Lobe® 0.025" pitch connector family, designed to deliver ultra-reliable signal contact direct from the PCB into the connector. With a profile of only 0.115" high, these connectors incorporate Omnetics' proven Flex Pin contact and are the lowest profile metal-shelled connector available on the market.
Nano connectors are defined by Mil-Std-32139. Comments Bob Stanton, Worldwide Sales Manager: "The term Bi-Lobe has become synonymous with Nano connectors. Bi-Lobe connectors are preferred for their resistance to extreme conditions of shock and vibration, whilst in the miniature footprint. Applications include military, space, medical, oil and gas equipment."
New single row Bi-Lobe connectors are available in 9-51 pin count versions, are housed in a robust metal shell and feature a metal jackscrew for locking and un-mating. They are polarised to prevent mis-mating. They withstand a shock of 100G in each axis and passed a vibration exposure from 10 to 2,000 to 10 Hz at 20G amplitude in each axis - in accordance with Mil-Std-32139. Wire to wire and surface mount versions are available.
Pricing depends on termination style, but in volume the price of the new single row Bi-lobe connectors is a little over $ 2.00 per contact. Leadtime is 6-8 weeks.
