Nyden's New SND100 NanoDrive(TM) Series: A Low Cost Alternative to its INS200 Predecessor

San Jose, CA-Nyden Corporation (a subsidiary of Mycom, Inc.) today announced the North American availability of its newest addition to the NanoDrive(TM) line of 2-Phase and 5-Phase Stepper Motors and Drivers. The SND100, a 2-Phase nano driver, has been added to Nyden's Motion Control Products line mainly to replace the already popular selling INS200 as a cost effective alternative. This replacement will provide a new market of worldwide businesses, regardless of limited financial budgetary, the experience to work with Nyden's highly successful series of NanoDrive(TM) Stepper Motors and Drivers, a line usually reputed to be used by and reserved for larger corporations with more expansive budgets.

The SND100 is a newly enhanced and more economical version of last season's worldwide acclaimed INS200, also designed by Nyden's parent company, Mycom, Inc. A uni-polar constant current 24Vdc stepper driver developed specifically to meet a variety of OEM machine-building and sensitive semiconductor processing equipment design applications, the new SND100 was designed by several Motion Control researchers at Mycom whose underlying goal was to continue the global success of Nyden's patented 2-Phase and 5-Phase NanoDrive(TM) Stepper Motor and Driver line. By maintaining the ability to execute the smallest degree step angle possible within 2-Phase motion technology, the SND100, in replacement of its INS200 predecessor, will still represent Nyden as offering the world's first industry standard 2-Phase driver to compete with high-priced servo systems in pricing and performance by reaching 200,000 Steps-per-Revolution when partnered with all of Nyden's own cost-friendly (and most industry standard) Size 17 and 23 Stepper Motors of various high torque rating. Nyden's 5-Phase Stepper Motor & Driver NanoDrive(TM) series is able to reach up to 500,000 Steps-per-Revolution.

The SND100 allows engineers to deploy nano positioning steps with a Resolution Selection Dip-Switch that provides up to 16 different resolution modes. These resolutions are: 1/1, 1/2, 1/2.5, 1/5, 1/8, 1/10, 1/20, 1/25, 1/40, 1/50, 1/100, 1/25, 1/200, 1/250, 1/500 and 1/1000. This means the highest resolution degree accuracy that can be achieved when using most type of 2-Phase/4-Phase Stepper Motors will be 0.0018º when operating with the SND100 at 1/1000 resolution mode. The driver's ability to reach a globally pinnacle resolution rate of up to 200,000 Steps-per-Revolution in a 2-Phase Stepper series allows practically no nano-scale vibration levels for engineers requiring highly smooth and delicate motion profiles being executed by any type of controller and/or PLC apparatus. With such a high positioning accuracy that is easily selectable by a dip-switch from the driver case, users will benefit from operating the SND100 NanoDrive(TM) within a variety of automation-related applications that require near-instantaneous machine set-up time.

Aside from offering an optimal running resolution of up to 200,000 steps-per-revolution, Nyden's new SND100 improves Nano Motion Control Technology with its inclusion of an inimitable Torque Chip, also developed by its successful parent company. This torque chip aids the Stepper Motor to operate as the most sophisticated type of synchronous device within a machine, and results in the highest running torque level regardless of load application or motor speed acceleration/deceleration. Furthermore, the torque chip's design function allows maximum heat dissipation and maximum torque at any given current.

Additional features of the SND100 include a Power LED Display, Plug-and-Play capabilities, simple wiring connections, an Auto Current Down function for safety purposes and an Auto Current Adjusting Volume function for enabling different output currents to meet various Stepper Motor requirements. A Pulse Input switch provides users easy accessibility to select running the driver as 1 Pulse type or 2 Pulse type. Furthermore, with minimal downtime in hook-up and at an incredibly light weight of only 120 Grams in a 4.75" X 3.5" X 0.5" compact size, the SND100 is advanced Motion Control Technology simplified at the most affordable pricing available.
