New Line of Nailers Address Regional Demands

JACKSON, TENN. (June 23, 2003) - Porter-Cable delivers professional results on job sites around the United States, regardless of the region, with the introduction of its new framing and roofing nailers. Each tool has collated clipped head and nail length specifications to meet the roofing and nailing demands of any project. The new rounded body style offers increased comfort and the overall design has doubled the life of the tools.

"We spent a lot of time on the jobsite listening and working with roofers and framers trying to understand exactly what they were looking for in their tools," said Jorge Silveira, Porter-Cable product manager. "The professional told us what features they wanted in their nailers so we set out to deliver the tools to fill these desires. Quality construction with a comfortable look and feel is what we delivered!"

Porter-Cable's full line of framing nailers include the FC350A, FR350A and FM350A. The FC350A uses 30 to 34 degree paper collated clipped head framing nails 2 to 3-1/2 inches long to meet the needs of Midwest framers, while the FM350A uses a 28 degree wire collated clipped head framing nails 2 to 3-1/2 inches long with the Northeast framers in mind. The FR350A addresses the demands of Southeast, Gulf Coast and Western framers with 22 degree plastic collated round head framing nails from 2 to 3-1/2 inches long.

All of these framing nailers have sufficient power to drive a 3-1/2 inch nail into laminated wood. The new nailers have also been designed to be more compact and comfortable to use. These tools feature tool-free adjustable exhaust, tool-free adjustable depth of drive with detents, and an internal piston catch for consistent power. The selectable triggers can be set to restrictive or contact mode, permitting the user to have more control over the nailer and release of the nails. The FC350A, FR350A and FM350A are currently available for approximately $260.00.

Recognized for industry leading roofing nailers, Porter-Cable has upgraded its line with Model RN175A. Roofing professionals gain numerous advantages with the RN175A to include a rubber grip for increased ergonomics and aesthetics. The new roofing nailer also has a selectable trigger that works in either restrictive or contact mode, which does not require any tools or other mechanism to switch from restrictive to contact mode. The RN175A uses 15 degree ¾ to 1-3/4 inch wire collated roofing nails. Currently the nailer is available for approximately $300.00.

"The RN175A features a unique nail and drive system that incorporates a two feed pawl system for unsurpassed reliability," said Jorge Silveira. "The tool virtually will not jam allowing the user to continue to work and not worry about the tool breaking down."
