MuseGlobal Releases XML Gateway Source Package to ABC-CLIO's Flagship Databases, America: History and Life and Historical Abstracts

Custom Source Packages from MuseGlobal Create Stable Connections, Ensure Greater End-user Satisfaction

March 16, 2007 - SALT LAKE CITY, UT - MuseGlobal, provider of comprehensive search management systems worldwide, and ABC-CLIO, a preeminent reference publisher in the area of history, are pleased to announce the release of an XML Gateway Source Package for ABC-CLIO's America: History and Life and Historical Abstracts. MuseGlobal worked in close technical cooperation with ABC-CLIO to establish secure and well-defined connections that will showcase these data services using approved search parameters. Public, academic and school library customers licensing these databases from ABC-CLIO will now enjoy reliable connections that allow for all the benefits of meta- and federated search features while retaining all native search capabilities.

ABC-CLIO's customers contacted MuseGlobal in late 2006 requesting the creation of XML Source Packages for these two data services. ABC-CLIO had specifically built its XML Gateway access for use by metasearch and federated search to make and maintain dependable connections through an approved and supported method of access. Our goal has always been to make access seamless for the end-user, and painless for our search partners, relates Glen Kaltenbrun, Senior Web/Database Developer, ABC-CLIO, who worked closely with MuseGlobal on the project. Graeme Wilson, VP of MuseGlobal's Partner Program, adds that each cooperative Connector project is of mutual benefit to the data provider and their customers. Access must be easy with high availability to maximize this benefit. ABC-CLIO customers can now be assured that America: History & Life and Historical Abstracts will be on hand for their end-users' research needs, using the access methodology approved by ABC-CLIO.

America: History and Life, an annotated bibliography, is an exceptional resource for students and scholars studying the history and culture of the United States and Canada, from prehistory to the present. Historical Abstracts covers the history of the world (excluding the United States and Canada) from 1450 to the present, featuring academic historical journals in over 40 languages published since 1955. Both were recently selected by Choice as an "Outstanding Academic Title 2006".
