Multisorb to Present Technical Poster at AAPS Meeting and Exposition

Simulation technology can save 6-12 months development time

Buffalo, New York – Multisorb Technologies will be presenting a technical poster at the 2014 American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Meeting and Exposition in San Diego, California. The poster, titled The Science Behind Sorbent Selection, explains how simulation technology can eliminate desiccant-ranging studies, save pharmaceutical manufacturers 6-12 months development time, and allow drug products to gain faster access to the market.

The technology uses a predictive model of moisture permeation and adsorption to determine the appropriate desiccant type and amount required to achieve required shelf-life targets for given pharmaceutical formulations and dosage forms. This ensures the desiccant solution is optimized for the drug product's chemical and stability requirements and its packaging. Simulation technology speeds up the development process, allowing for faster regulatory filing – in some cases it has allowed manufacturers to be first to file.

Multisorb Technologies will also have a booth where it will highlight its customized desiccant and oxygen absorbers that are used to improve healthcare product stability for moisture and oxygen sensitive drugs.
