New Low-Cost Multichannel Analyzer with USB Technology from Ortec® Products Group

OAK RIDGE, TN, July 30, 2008, The ORTEC® Products Group of AMETEK Advanced Measurement Technology announces the EASY-MCA, a low-cost multi-channel analyzer available in 2K or 8K that interfaces to a PC via a USB cable. "This MCA fills an application need where the older ISA and PCI bus MCA cards have been rendered obsolete due to the design of new PCs. The Easy- MCA is an economical solution to this problem," notes Ben Kennedy, Product Manager for Detectors for the ORTEC Products Group. "This compact stand-alone MCA is a perfect fit for PCs that no longer support Plug in MCA cards. The units are conveniently stackable when multiple MCAs are required to be controlled by a single PC." The EASY-MCA has a fast conversion time and includes dead-time correction logic inputs. It comes complete with MAESTRO-32 MCA emulation software to provide control spectral display and analysis. Its software offers the ability to view up to eight detectors and windows simultaneously. The EASY-MCA begins shipping late September 2008.
